Biography

A marionette is a puppet that is worked by strings and it also means a person who is easily manipulated. The band name Screaming Marionette easily gives away the musical theme that they follow – aggressive and anti-corrupt-establishment. The band was formed in 2016 after Nikesh Bhujel – the vocalist – arrived at Kathmandu from Pokhara and met guitarist Nabin Khadka, bassist Sulav Jung and drummer Sushan Gurung at Sangeet Pathshala. Sulav was then replaced by Nimesh Nakarmi. For ICMC 2017, they added one more guitarist for a more layered sound in the form of Sajan Gurung and is still a part of the full lineup. After winning the band competition, they started work on their EP “Corrupted Society”. Known for their high adrenaline live shows, the band is a crowd favorite in the metal community and one to definitely keep an eye out for. If you like raw aggression and non-conformist statements in your heavy taste of music, this band is definitely for you with its groove metal and metalcore offerings.
