Noodlein Brief

Founded in 2021 in Kathmandu and created by a group of artist friends, Noodle is the first platform of its kind for Nepali audiences to directly support their favourite artists. Noodle advocates for protection, recognition and appreciation of the artist. By continually creating awareness around piracy and music rights, Noodle enhances the artist agency, supporting the artist to unapologetically own and create more music. Noodle has a transparent per download artist payment plan, one that is unmatched by any other competing platform that favors the artist. Noodle aims to become a sustainable platform, one where the artist-audience ecosystem is free of violations of both parties.

NoodleGoal

Our unique and creative Nepali music scene faces numerous region-specific problems that are magnified by the laid-back culture of piracy that goes unchecked by the constitution. Similarly, the cash-based economy in Nepal deters audiences from truly supporting their artist as they are effectively unable to support their artists on international platforms. Alternatively, Nepali artists based in Nepal have to resort to non verified brokers in order to make their music available on these international platforms. The combined negligence from the government, international distributors and the existing culture ends up hurting the creators of the scene the most: the artists. From the grassroot level, Noodle aims to disrupt this passive culture that contributes to artists leaving the scene. By giving artists more agency for their work and supporting grassroot efforts in music, Noodle aims to shake up the status quo. Our goal is to bring together the artist and the audience, ensure the best audio quality for listeners, call attention to artist protection, and redefine the listening culture in Nepal.
