Biography

With over three decades given to the music scene, Diwas Gurung is the true chameleon of our music industry with varying and extensive roles from playing multiple instruments to singing as well as recording and producing a number of well-known artists of the present. From the heavier days of Albatross to the critically acclaimed outfit – Ayurveda, Diwas Gurung has been a prominent figure and a flag bearer of our music scene for a long time. After moving to the U.S in 2002 pursuing a degree in Economics, Ayurveda was the only properly active outfit he was involved in. This gradually led to a shift in his musical inclination towards Nepalese folk and its arrangements which eventually gave rise to his eponymous debut “Rato Mato”. His current sound is a mix of dream pop with folkish elements and truly stands out in our scene. He also played a major role in producing artists such as Bartika Eam Rai, Phosphenes, Yugal Gurung and many more along with the recent production of Arthur Gunn’s latest single “Jalai Ma”. Constantly evolving and ever learning, Diwas Gurung is here to stay and we look forward to anything that he will work on in the future.
