Took a while but finally on 2015, Gurung after much needed introspection released another EP titled “Jharana Sahar”. This EP as he says, is a tribute to the place where he grew up with his sister, learned his first guitar chords; basically, his home. Four tracks are included in the album, all of which have been meticulously produced. The title track “Jharana Sahar” is the work of a musician and a singer-songwriter who is well versed in his art, his voice full of compassion. The sentiment expressed in the song recognizes the value of appreciating the moment while reminiscing the past, his childhood days. The lyrics is bittersweet, melancholic, and full of emotional and symbolic memory; his yearning for the
past is palpable. “Kati Baschau Maiti Kai..” is an exemplary, every bit as good as the originally performed by Ram Thapa. Even now, the beautiful singing and dancey guitar sounds make it a fresh listen. “Jharana Sahar” is the most essential and passionate album in soul music, performed by one of the genre's most talented musicians.
