Biography

The Midnight Riders is a trio band from Kathmandu keeping the spirit of the blues alive in Nepal. TMR started as a cover band back in 2009 and played a plethora of different genres with an ever-changing lineup for the better part of a decade before trying its hands on some originals. After exploring with a whole lot of different setups involving various musicians, the TMR trio formation seemed to suit the band most, as also told by most of its audiences who listened to TMR’s “Baiguni Lai Blues Le Marnu Parcha” album released in 2019. Blues is at the core of The Midnight Rider’s music with Jimi Blues on guitars and vocals, Sunny Mahat on bass and Jay Ram Karki on drums. Music has basically been a ‘trial and error’ affair for TMR so far but the band is not giving up anytime soon.
