Biography

Majipa is a Nepali rock band formed in 2013. Since their first performance in International Music day at Moksh, in the same year, they have been performing in various venues in Nepal. They hit the studio in 2014 to record their album and their first single "Birsideu" was released on November 2016. But due to many factors they were able to complete and release their debut album only by 2017. Majipa is inspired by rock bands of the past and present and produce songs from soft rock, rock ballads, hard rock to heavy metal. The band found the name Majipa mentioned in Swayambhu Puran, Majipa meaning Kathmandu. So they took the name and decided to use it in a way to pay tribute to this beautiful city of Kathmandu where most of the band members grew up and from where they all have been connected as musicians and friends ultimately. The band’s song from the debut album, song Prashna was nominated at Radio Kantipur’s National Music Awards 2019 whereas "Bujha Mannka Kura" was also able to be on the Top 10 charts for sometime in Hits FM as well. Crrently they are working on their second album at Studio M, Naxal.
