“Baba Ji” by Try-Tone follows in the same experimental vein that their debut single had. A tasty Crimson-ish intro starts off this affair. This one feels like a mad tribute to weed and before you try to lay this off as such, the vocal melody and weird instrumentations. At a time where, safe music is the go to norm, we definitely root for artists like Try-Tone that try to take a different approach to songwriting and presentation. The band has playful flair to them on this one and also at time feels like an ode to Beefheart. A mix of ska, bossanova and prog rock, this is a fun filled affair that is bound to please the general listeners as well as jazz and prog enthusiasts. This is definitely a step up from their debut single!
