Mother Of Pearl is back with their new single "Awastha" where things kick off with birds chirping accompanied by a sweet plucking on the guitar: this is a much more mellow offering from the outfit and the mix is definitely a step in the right direction. The tempo changes and subtle variations are well thought out. The vocals taking turns in harmony and lead gives this song the feel of a story in motion. The solos and sections are well planned whereas the rhythm section holds strong as the song progresses to a grand outro. Gallopy in its primary structure, the time signature and chord choices keep things interesting as the song ends on a synth that may very well be a connecting link to another tune in the full album. Only time will tell. For now, things look up for 'Mother Of Pearl'.
