Celebrated songstress and the queen of indie-melodies, Bartika Eam Rai is a songwriter/singer of Nepali descent who is accumulating study-cult-following around the globe. Her debut song 'Khai' from her debut album 'Bimbaakaash' took the Nepali online community by storm, launching her solo musical journey, and winning her the Song of The Year and Best Vocal Performance (Female) at Hits FM Music Awards 2018. Rai has since put out two more albums, 'Taral' (2018) and 'Si/Ma-[Na]' (2019), of which 'Aasha (II)' from 'Taral' bagged Song of The Year at Hits FM Music Awards 2020. Eminent for her use of authentic words and tongue, she brings out the beauty in Nepali language like nobody else. Her songs sing of loving and losing, death and existence, and coming of age, and her abstract portrayal/documentation of her feelings and experiences has resonated with audiences globally.
