Biography

Spit Strings are a 4-piece band from Kathmandu, Nepal. Formed during the late November of 2019, they comprise Pratibimba Adhikary (vocals), Manoj Khadka (drums and percussions), Ashish Ghimire (bass, back vocals) and Aayush Thapa (guitar, back vocals). Starting their journey from scratch, they started out as a bunch of people who shared the same love and passion for music and art. Spit Strings released their debut album “The Mess I Made” during late 2023 which was recorded at Broken Egg Studios located at Patan, Lalitpur. This band focuses on making music that expresses the suppressed emotions of an individual so that the listeners can relate to it on a spiritual level. Lyrically and musically all of the members have an equal contribution towards the band as they all believe that writing music comes from the heart and not the hand. All the members are nurtured and immersed in different musical backgrounds, hence creating a feeling of mixed emotions running throughout their songs which can often be conflicting to one’s sense of identity. The style of their music can be defined as a blend of experimentation of different musical ideas with “Rock” as their base element. Bonded by the love of music and art from different eras, Spit Strings focuses on creating music that is unorthodox, rebellious and often downright offensive to those who interpret a lot without any context.
