Biography

Simma Rai is a singer/songwriter based in Kathmandu, Nepal. She has worked in various jazz and folk bands, done playback singing in movies and performed in international concerts as a singer. Known for her versatile singing, she is also establishing herself as a songwriter and composer and exploring arrangement in her songs. Her music is mainly influenced by Jazz, Soul, Eastern Classical, Latin, folk and world music. Changing her career from Software engineering to Music, she is currently working as a music teacher in The British School and teaches western vocals and beginner piano.
