Underside
Biography
Named after a lyric from Puscifer, ‘Underside’ has become a global name per se. When E.Quals and Lost Oblivion were unsure of the way ahead, Underside came to be when Bikrant Shrestha came back to Nepal from Switzerland and studio jams took place with Avishek K.C, Manil Shakya, Mr. Bikash Bhujel and Bibek Tamang and their similarity in musical choices were explored. RIffage, a pumped up bunch with groove and numetal in their veins, there was no turning back from the get go. With two albums under their belt and numerous international tours and local gigs, the band has proven that they’re a force to be reckoned with in our music scene. Known for their live shows and wild stage performances, they later brough Nishant Hager on board for drum duties. Bringing groove metal to the forefront, the band has inspired many acts in the country and even toured with Mohini Dey as the touring bassist with Manil leaving for the U.K. With the Lakhe and Daura already almost a staple of the band’s live shows, they are also planning to experiment with more Nepalese ethnic themes and soundscapes for their upcoming record which seems all set to be a heavy one. Apart from the musical releases, the group also jointly established the Silence Festival which made it possible for music fans in Nepal to witness countless international class acts right from the comforts of their cities. Kudos and more power to this group !!
