Petrichor is a series of personal inward journeys condensed into a concept album. According to Zacy, the album speaks about his state of mind and heart. He goes on to explain the songs as chapters of a single story. The prologue "Way to your heart" introduces the protagonist who falls in love with a girl. Following up with "Hundred Pages Away"; a story within a story, the song explores a classic heartbreak theme. "Na Aaidinu" takes the narrative forward with a different perspective; the protagonist addresses the heartbreak and the abrupt end to the story in a rather passive-aggressive manner. "Kasto Bane, Kasto Thiye" is personal and self-reflective of the past; echoing regrets yet welcoming them. The pre-finale "Can't Recognize My Voice Anymore" is everything that the title describes; the protagonist hugging depression and inner voices and surrendering to his mind. The final plot "Bichitra Sansar" embraces an aggressive tone realizing and escaping the BS the protagonist has pulled himself into. Although light years away from anything you could remotely call commercial, Petrichor still manages to contain its fair share of melody. The main appeal of the album is the concept behind it. Minus a few stray lines, the thematic concerns are something you will only glean from the lyric sheet. Zacy has embraced his influences as a whole, defying genre norms and incorporating Nepali and English writing, also combining both at times. The record is genre bending and weird but honest, downright and quirky all at the same time.
