t's no surprise to mention "Stay a little bit longer" in the same breathe as Jack Johnson, perhaps most comparable in Prasid's vocal tone and harmony. The strum-along acoustic guitar accompaniment also stirs thoughts of the Hawaiian singer and the fans will find much here of a similar relaxing tone. While Prasid does not take many risks in the song musically or lyrically, the honesty and straightforwardness of the song makes it amicable. If you're familiar with his previous work then you know that he has this knack for indie rock melodies with a superfluous wordflow. Many more songs to be added here before this is labelled as the full album. A laid-back guitar intro serves as the foundation for most of the accompaniment on "Prayaan". The song picks up a bit of steam in the second half as a cozy beat, a jangly synth and a bright electric guitar enter the mix. The rhythmic idiosyncrasy along with vocal melody favors traits of standard contemporary folk sound. The relaxed orchestration and lyrical simplicity make for a feel-good track. Prasid has channeled his personal sound and style into a more mainstream circuit without completely compromising his music to conventional pop. Fourth song into this record, Prasid comes in with "Let Me Be". A cracking snare led beat drives this beautiful tune. An honest tone in his voice and a reflective lyrical approach. A vulnerable tell of tales with an earnest feel. Somewhere between Lenny Kravitz and Switchfoot, Prasid shines best when the tune has an alternative base. The best one from the EP so far.
