“Fall In Love Again” - harkens a memory from the 90s, the music is pensive and Simon Upreti’s vocal beautifully carries the emotion of longing and lament. I saw the stars in your face - and how it swells to this section where Simon just lets go and fully expresses this emotion that wells up inside him. No percussion here, not that it is needed. A lucid, lucid song is “Fall In Love Again”. Nishant Shakya on the keys is on his game setting up the mood in all songs but those little trinkets of sound that kick off “Fly High” put you in the headspace to what is about to follow. A magnanimous chorus section gives this the depth that it needs but it is also Simon’s bass playing that deserves much applause here. As no one can catch you now – “Fly High” feels like a tribute to someone who has left this mortal plane. The song outros into this big guitar solo by Susan Shrestha and he gives it the grand finish/the final send off if you will, that it needs. “Nature Calls” - but do we listen. The song begins with a Simon serenade - a staple of the Grasstunes and Ishan Shrestha on drums give it the right groove that it needs through out. Here is where we tip our hats to the lyrics - As the sun sets, the eyes turn red and the skies get dull - These journeys are endless but I got to do what needs to be done. Grasstunes is an ensemble that are surely at the cusp of discovering a sound within them that is unique only to them and at the same time sounding as classic as it can be. P.S. That bass solo that takes us to the epilogue of the song, exquisite * joins fingers together and does Italian hand gesture * Go With The Flow feels like it belongs on a RHCP B - Side, a little akin to Desecration Smile (without the La La Las ) but them keys make it sound like only Grasstunes. “Sawari” is the only Nepali track here and has a big riff and trumpets that open the song before it moves into almost a frantic chaos of storytelling. The story is all too familiar - Mantri ra Karmachari, paila sabai byapari - in a line encapsulates that this is a song that bemoans the corruption, lack of diligence and every credible complain that the people have towards the government and government officials. Nishant Shakya shines here with that nasal organ solo that is almost like ‘ Hey the 80s called, Wham! Wants their keyboards back ‘. A fun, frustrated and F U of a song that should be on everyone’s playlist. A good debut from the outfit and we look forward to more releases.

An album that's repeatable 24/7. Fly high is prolly one of the best works from Anil studios. Nothing's overproduced. But it's not too raw as well. Mix is at its best. There's no fancy guitar stuffs, no unnecessary fills. It's different from most of the music where vocals are the main focus. Everything's the main focus here. After a rollercoaster of emotions over four songs, all the build-up emotions burst out with a sort of punk song. Punk is at the core of every Nepali musician. Grasstunes has preserved the raw sound and the mix has enhanced the raw sound. It's fresh. It's exciting
