With a rambunctious opening, the Hardrock trio does not lose a minute to launch their rapid social commentary and manifesto for change on the title track "Pariwartan". Barking out the lyrics "Pariwartan hamile yaha chaheko" coupled with anthemic riffs and a rhythm section that bustles along never seemingly taking a breath. "Magihidne ho" is a bit on the softer side initially but then the vocals start to wail with buckets of adrenaline and melody greeting you at every twist and turn. "Dukha" is slower, a little more breathable. You'll get some clean ambient guitars, melodic string accompaniment, a simple guitar solo, with possibly the best-written chorus in the album. "Nepal Banda" is a straight-out critique of governmental corruption and fascism and does not waver from their promotion of social unity and a desire to see right done to and by the people. With such a simple chorus with airy, brooding passages and an abrupt end, it's not like they're saying it's going to get better. One of the smartest lyrics resides in "Paagal" with the line "Paagalko samajma basne sadhye manchhe ni paagal". The closer you listen, the more you get out of the song, but just hearing it is an experience either way. All hell breaks loose on "Sadhesaat". Subir Shrestha throws the crooning away and snarls vocally as the tale unravels. The maniacal laughter in the end makes sure to purge the listener. The finale "Illusion" takes a more modern pop-rock approach in contrast. Likely the best all-around song with such a simple chorus, "It's an illusion" summing up the song with only three words. Backed by one of the best guitar solos in the album, the song is honest, poignant, earnest, and everything you'd hope for. Manual Transmission does not beat around the bush. They waste no time in getting their message across. Drawing influence from bands such as RATM, Deep Purple, and Pink Floyd to name but a few, the Hardrock trio will no doubt forge a decent future based on this sharp, shock of an album.
