Yogic guru audio sample and guitars...the album kicks off in a serene fashion with "Yogic Intro" that leads into the track "Forest". Birds chirping and a clean guitar intro. A 4 min+ track that takes its sweet time to build its sweetness up, this is bound to please any Floyd fan. Spacey vocal bits and the track ends. A peaceful start. "Dark Monk" follows next with a keys intro that sounds malicious with each repetition, audio samples, monologues - mostly an instrumental before fading into a series of "Dhanyawaad". The fourth track "Shangrila" is a 7 minute ear pleaser prog fest with spacey vocals reminding one of Genesis or Yes. A beautiful track. "Guru Yogi" follows next and sounds very Eastern and hypnotic. This album is definitely for ones who can lie patiently and indulge in the soundscapes presented. "Hell on Earth" is very 90s Wilson-ish from its intro to the entire feel of it before exploding into a 70s organ fest. "Yoga Namaskar" follows next and is the most Eastern classical track on the album - a peaceful 3 minute sitar tabla and veena laden journey. The album closes with "Lost Myself", a nearly 6 minute track that picks up after the first minute as the duel between guitars and organ sections gives way to a peaceful passage and vocals. A good balance in dynamics. Mostly instrumental and even if the album lacks a bit of an anchor or direction, the band these days have more vocal presence and are definitely something to be excited for - in terms of their new album in the making.
