Night band has been involved in the music industry for over a decade now. In the decade, since its initial release, the definitive Nepalese Neo-Folk band holds a distinction because it grants equal importance to all three parts of that formula. After their huge success with their second release, Jhalka Raya Buka, on 2017, yet again on their third release, 'Ramite –The Music, Volume 1', there is no disappointment at all.

“Ramite” is basically a concept album based on Kunwar’s novel, “Ramite-Daam" which roughly translates as “The Spectator” is a work of fiction. This novel is a tale about societies, cultures, and human instincts. The recording sound is among the best of their many releases; the sound quality of the recording is among their best; when played at the right volume, it's as if you've moved through the sound hole of a range of folk instruments. Forthright and poetic, Night’s songs are raw nerves, tales of love and loss etched with incredible depth and complexity; where tracks like “Am I Not?” are darkened by bittersweet moments of sadness and isolation. “We only live once” brings emotional depth to these songs without going overboard, and their instruments' power, especially the sarangi, is impressive here, full of humanity and hard-won wisdom. The song “Whistle like a flute, Maina” also known as the Song of the Gangate River, which features Karna Raj Giri is another beautifully lead masterpiece with layered vocal harmonies. Inspired by the melodies of eastern hills of Nepal, “From Afar” is a minimalist musical piece with just bamboo percussions for music and incredible vocals by Simma, Sugama, and Shiva, and lyrics written by Jason Kunwar. Night band is at the top of their game, bringing together a blend of acoustic folk instrumentation, local traditions and indigenous beliefs.
