The full length offering from Underside uses more electronic elements that their debut EP and yes- growth is a must and is a good thing. “Enter Hell” sounds exactly like the title suggests, big guitars, big buildup and the repetitive licks gives way to this grand sound stating “My mother is my darkness, my father is the door” and a grand drum outro. An intro track in its essence, the song does its job before giving way to the title track “Satan in Your Stereo” and if you think the drums sound on another level on this record, it is mainly due to the addition of Nishant on the kicks. Call it legend or fable or truth, he finished the drum takes at Mr. Music studio in a day and a half. Powerhouse. Kudos!! Kickass music video as well. “Enemy Within Me” follows next and the guitars sound lovely on this one – with interesting dissonant notes that only add substance to a brooding track. “Right to Hate” with that kickass lyrics video they released is one of the most frantic and in your face tracks of this album and is bound to start a riot in your car, your living room or wherever it starts playing. The fifth track is “Make Believe” and sounds like an anthem in the making from the get go. What’s notable as well on this record are the subtle playing around with time signatures. “Scare” is something different from the bunch. Stepping out of their safe zones, it is a much subtler effort with electronica and alternative roots at its core, and it definitely pays off as this easily sounds like one of the highlights of the album. “If Only” returns back to the aggression with a groovy AF riff and approach and pumps you up for the next mosh whenever that is. The outro track “Anthem for the Black Heart” follows next which is atmospheric and repetitive building a mood of its own for nearly 2 minutes before silence prevails. This is a solid full length from the group and a step forward musically from their debut EP. We hope the band keeps on exploring new sounds and if their recent releases hint anything for sure – it is that it’s definitely happening!
