10 seconds of silence gives its way to the opening track "Trace of Space" giving you a picture of the sounds to come later in this album. This is a sweet track with its chaotic moments and the raw recording adds more to the sound of the song sounding almost "65 Days of Static" production wise. "Love Yourself" is the second track and is a feel good groovy track with minimal vocals until it turns into a punk massacre everytime it reaches its chorus... Daddy. Mommy. Brother. Sister. Uncle. Aunty. Grandpa. Grandma. If you know this track or have seen this band live. You'll know. "Through the Inside" follows next and is the most alternative/ punk sounding on this and the transitional vocals give this song a cool edge. Just let your kids go to the show. And the band showcases most of the styles they delve into on this track. One of the highlights of the album with the trio on point for this. "Happily Sad" is another crowd favorite with its mellow beginning that almost turns into a Black Flag anthem. What's commendable is that this DIY album's rawness is perfectly balanced by the mix. Kudos! "Rainbow" is the next track with an almost sanskritik intro - a beautiful guitar n bass piece before all move into series of strums. The bass work on this one is lovely. The sixth track "Sun is God" is a waiting man's game with its slow build and delay laden atmosphere and almost Floydish feels before breaking out to the Japanese indie/punk sound but in their own way. "Big Eye" is a banger from the start with its riffage before a chill section kicks in. The band excels in balancing different sides and styles of music along with interesting time signatures. The second last track "Wanderlust" starts with the familiar NTC aunty audio sample and a kickass delay laden groove. Definitely a crowd pleaser in their live shows and ends up being one of the straight up heavy songs of the album. The launch gig of this album was also a commendable one done in a full DIY spirit at the premises of 'Gharbar'. Look it up if you don't know what that is. The final track "On Acid" is an interesting choice for an outro, and the most experimental one where the trio has superimposed almost all the tracks of the album into one track and it sounds chaotic to say the least... or it sounds exactly like the title suggests - tripping balls on acid. Definitely an interesting debut and a band to look out for in the future. Cheerios!
