The album basks in the band’s jubilant orchestrations, but also uses them toward more complicated ends. From the motoric chug of "Paisa" to the suave pop of "Nilo Chata" the band renders familiar sounds with such style, character, and attention to detail that you might as well be hearing them for the first time. This album can be taken as the metamorphosis of Sabin Rai. WIth a dream lineup in the form of Pharaoh, this album is a modern day classic, Opening with the record's modest highlight "Dhanyabaad" with enough reasons to be thankful is still what makes the sound so relatable in the first place, the very human, heart-on-sleeve approach. "Paisa" is a tightly wrapped nugget of mid-paced funk that lasts exactly as long as it should. "Chaan gedi sabia aafno, chaina kohi hunna" cries Sabin Rai with an unrivaled enthusiasm reflecting the current state of affairs. On the slow-burning "Nilo Chata", Sabin Rai croons off a list of memories and regrets, backed with faint horn lines and a prominent electric piano driving most of the accompaniment section. "Suttukai" effortlessly drifts into funk-fusion territory with the prominence extending to both the lyrics and how unironically the band has recreated the kind of brass and synth parts that dominated the early jazz-fusion era. "Samjhanchu" is an earnest song that unearths the charisma and agility of the band. All the elements that the band is so desired for is displayed in perfect harmony. The song showcases the band's evolution without compromising its essence. "Raftaar" with a deceptive intro quickly morphs into a chug fest. The guitars sitting in the heart of orchestration compliments the straight-forward approach and unbothered lyrical theme. "J sochchas, Baalai Farara" exclaims Sabin Rai. Samarpan’s familiar sound dovetails elegantly, in which every present moment carries the full weight of the past. The virtuosity of the band is unquestionable. No guitar solo goes unnoticed. The rhythm section is as tight as it gets. Sabin Rai is quietly self-possessed, nearly beatific in his movements through these environs, distinguishing himself with a rare but familiar quality and if you have seen these songs played live - then you know the energy that they possess and exude. A modern day classic - we repeat!
