Single Details & Review
A mammoth of a track clocking in at nearly 7 minutes, this one begins with a slow synthy intro and water droplets and this unmistakable voice. With every new release, Rachana seems more confident and the soundscapes more mature. Even though this is a live staple of her gig, hearing the studio version is a treat as her voice shines on as usual and the little tweaks and experiments be it via the low octave harmonies or string sections or noises - are commendable. The music is layered and brooding and her voice shines on with a calm urgency of sorts. The outro meanwhile is ominous "Gaadiye jameen bhitra gaadiye ma" and the whistle singing with a percussive melancholy - dare we say this gives the tune a progressive edge. An excellent release from a distinct voice. Kudos to the production.
