The EP starts off with the banger “Malai Kehi Audaina” which is a straight up punk rocker anthem that is accompanied by a kickass DIY video on their YouTube channel. Recorded at Mr. Music Recording Studio with Divesh dai, the EP shows 4 distinct sides of the band through its 4 singles. “Panchi Haru” is the second track and might just be the most hit or crowd favorite song of the band with every guy who has ever been in love but equally loves partying with his mates relating to the crossroads he finds himself in – time and again – having to choose between the two. The third track is “Nilo Suitcase” and is a sweet tune and a stripped down depiction of anyone leaving Nepal to pursue their future, dreams, hopes and aspirations. The latter part of the song has this arena rock sing along vibe to it as Steve repeats “K Nepali ko sapana, bidesh ma matrai pura huncha?”. The honest approach to writing and delivery is what sets this band apart making them approachable and relatable. The EP ends with the title track “Jhilkey Fire” which has a grand sound and the most impressive keyboard section in the entire release. This song can basically be the anthem for every JATC fan out there to sing and jump along to in any gig. All in all, a solid start to their career and their full length album debut is something to look forwards to with songs like “Chinese Chor” and “Raila” yet to be recorded amongst many more !

Artist Fact Board

The band went for the name “Jhilke and the Company” because they feel that out of all the words that can be used to describe a person, “Jhilke” sounds the most grounded, genuine, and close-to-the-heart

One movie Steve Dewan, the band’s lead guitarist and vocalist, recommends everyone should watch: Numafung

Their most memorable show till date was during fall, 2019, when they performed at Beers n' Cheers, Jhamsikhel.
